Hobbies (NOT Photography…gasp!) – Waterloo Kitchener Photographer

I always feel like…what!??! Blog carousel time already? I seriously cannot understand how each month goes by so quickly (which is seriously annoying!) BUT it is that time again, which is great because I always LOVE doing this monthly project. Its always a nice break from the routine to do something a little more creative….

Sophie - Wow. I’ve never even seen asparagus grow. Thanks for enlightening us city folk, lol. What gorgeous images!

Dena Robles - I can relate!! As a recovering child laborer in my parent’s backyard garden I am surprised to discover how much I LOVE gardening again, especially when it come to dinner time. Lovely photographs of your own green labor.

Anna Mayer - This is an awesome, and delicious, post! Making me hungry for my own summer harvest! I cannot wait to get digging in the dirt. In Wisconsin it has finally gotten to be that time but it will have to wait a week for me to come back from California. This post has me wishing to be home with my hands in the soil. :)

Julie Tauro - they are delicious Anna-Karin. They are also very like wild strawberries (we used to hunt for them as kids too)

Anna-Karin - Yum! I am drooling away at your gorgeous photographs of the berries. I have never heard of alpine strawberries. Need to look into them. They look like a wild strawberry that I grew up with in Sweden. They taste so very sweet but don’t grow to many in one spot.

Blog Carousel My Hometown – Kitchener Waterloo Photographer

This post is always one of my favourites of the month…not because I am so awesome (which, you know, I kinda am…at least according to my golden retriever). But I enjoy it so much because I love seeing how the other creative photographers in the carousel interpret our monthly theme. I don’t get to see…

Anna Mayer - Such a cool exercise for you to find what you love in your own hometown. I would so wait for one of those apple fritters. Yum!

PamN - You are so lucky – I have to drive an HOUR to get to a farmers market. Love your images!

Dena Robles - These photos are gorgeous and really exhibit the whole vibe of a good Farmer’s Market. Our just tripled in size last year and we have a new open air market opening up just blocks form the studio this spring. I CANNOT WAIT. Of course I will take a cue fro myou Julie and tote my camera along.

Anna-Karin - I want to go to your market. The food looks so yummy and the colors are just beautiful!

Holli - That is a great farmers market! I so want to go there and the fritters look yummy. :)

Season - LOVE THESE! I am a farmer’s market NUT. I love everything about them – the colors, the smells, the warm (usually) days and being so excited to get home and make dinner with all of our goodies. I miss summer though!

Amy - Really cool. Love the textures. The first one reminded me of an eye of a tiki statue :)

Danna - very cool! That walking stick is pretty awesome! Love these. TFS.

Dena Robles - Shooting macro not only allows us to appreciate the tiny details of ordinary objects, it also allows us the time to slow down and really study our surroundings and learn to appreciate the objects in their entirety.

Anna-Karin - Great choice for the macro shots! I love that the items were from your honey moon. That makes them even more special!

Food Love – Blog Carousel – Kitchener Waterloo Photographer

Blog carousel time, once again, and the topic is food love. Things being  busy around our home these days, I have been finding our meals are a little on the uninspiring side of things. Quickly thrown together, bits of this and that on a plate. Add a few too many pizza delivery nights. Bah! Must…

Chelsey - I love reading your thought process behind it all, Julie. I’m a big fan of radishes as well – nice to have that in common ;) and I’m so happy to see your B&Ws! I considered that – love what you’ve done here. That pomegranate looks so yummy. It’s like you can taste the juiciness right through the screen!

Kim Prochazka - Loving all the different organic shapes on these. The shadows are really beautiful on the pears and I love the pomegranate. I’m with you – don’t love the way they taste, but they do photograph beautifully!

Dena Robles - Julie you always do a tremendous job on the still life photographs, they are truly beautiful and well thought out.

Chelsey - So fun & sentimental moments that cannot be replaced …although I would love to see her reenact some of these at 12! That would be fantastic! ;) My 4yo d is very into pink at the moment, so it’s funny you should mention ;) what a sweetheart!

Danna - awww, these are amazing. Totally melt my heart!

Corey Sewell - So precious! Love the carefree feel of the ones by the water!

Melody Hood - How gorgeous is she?? I love it! You can totally see her fun and playful spirit in these :)

Dena Robles - ohhhh. adorable. I swear there is a “Pink Switch” that suddenly gets turned off one day with little girls. Thanks for your post, it brought up a lot of sweet memories of my own growing-up-too-fast pink ballerina.

Kim - Love every one of these! Your little girl is just precious!

Anna-Karin - She is so adorable!! I just love the ones of her dancing by the water. I can totally tell she was in her own little imaginary and make believe world when you captured her. Sweet sweet memories of when your girl was little!! Priceless memories for sure as they so quickly grow out of that stage.
